Arborist OSHA Update

As you may have seen from TCIA’s recent alert, OSHA put tree care employers on notice that conventional body/waist belts and lanyards used for fall arrest in aerial/compact lifts would no longer be acceptable as of January 17, 2017. What this means for you is that if you are still providing body/waist belts and lanyards for your aerial lift/compact lift operators, you must switch to an OSHA-compliant system (full body harness and energy absorbing lanyard or a travel restraint system) by January 17, 2017. We are offering the two kits at reduced rates due to the regulation change and to help our customers get into compliance as quickly and as easily as possible. Buckingham recommends one of the following be used to ensure OSHA compliance:

Fall Arrest

Harness-Lanyard Combo (Part # U64937Q6)

Travel Restraint

BuckIt™ Restraint System (Part # 126A)
