Buckingham has been approached by a number of utilities and contractors to address fall protection for those working on a roof or off a ladder at a customer’s home.

The Buckingham Rooftop Fall Protection Kit provides a temporary vertical lifeline for accessing elevated work areas from a portable ladder. When a bucket truck is available, this system can also be anchored to a bucket or boom depending on your work practices.

This Patent Pending system was developed hand-in-hand with Duke Energy and allows the user to set a lifeline and re-direct lines from the ground which keep the user 100% fall protected while ascending a ladder, working on a ladder, and descending a ladder.

Today, the Buckingham Rooftop Fall Protection Kit is the only solution of its kind on the market.

BuckArrester (Mobile Fall Arrester) designed to arrest a fall off of a ladder. Helpful Hint: To help promote the ease of tracking of the BuckArrester™ when coming down a ladder, simply place thumb behind rope and above the BuckArrester™ and slightly push outward toward your chest.

How It Works!

Basic Application

1) Using BuckLaunch™, launch the throw bag with throwline attached over the structure towards your suitable anchor. See instructions & warnings for a list of suitable anchors that Buckingham has tested.

    2) Attach the end of the throw line to the anchor eye of the lifeline and pull over the structure towards the anchor.

    3) Attach lifeline to suitable anchor.

    4) Following the ladder manufacturer’s instructions and your employer’s work practices, install the ladder in the desired location to reach the work area. Install BuckArrerster (Mobile Fall Arrester) on lifeline according to Buckingham’s instructions. Attach BuckArrester to your harness’ sternal D-ring.

    RFPREDIRECT Rooftop Re-Direct Kit

    Where a suitable anchor isn’t readily available or maybe a roof that exposes the user to a swing fall – we have also developed a Re-Direct and Load-Sharing application that builds on the Basic Kit above and gives you a variety of options to deal with the more quirky situations.
     

    Situations Include

    • Chance of the lifeline sliding off peak or edge
    • Questionable anchorage requiring the user to share load between multiple anchors
